Hey, I wanted to see what you guys like better in terms of
Speed,
Ease of opening,
Holding the knife (unopened) ,
Pocket clipping (kinda random),
and style.
I really like the spydie hole although I've never used a real one I've the once on my vantage (I don't think it's even close the real one) and I like it sure on the vantage its kinda hard since its really small.
I also like it because i can put a zip tie through the opening hole and make it into a wave thats removable.
Also by spydie hole the benchamade holes can count also just make sure to say benchmade.

I like them all pretty equally, depends on the knife I guess, I have owned/own mostly thumb stud knives but also have my fair share of spydie holes and flippers

Ikbs flippers, spyderholes and I'll tolerate a thumblug if it's on a good knife like a sebenza

They all work for me, some faster, some slower but I can manage them all fine. The tightness and smoothness of each particular knife is a big factor also.

Speed - flipper, or a really good detent tension and thumbstud
Ease of opening - flipper or thumbstud
Holding the knife (unopened) - flipper or stud, holes make wide closed profiles
Pocket clipping - stud loses, snags on the occassion
and style - thumbstud has the most narrow profile, I like sleek

I like flippers, holes, and large thumb-studs. I haven't preferred any of the small thumbstuds I've handled because, (on liner and framelocks), there is less clearance for the left thumb. I really hate one-sided thumbstuds, they're either useless for me or for all of my friends. I would only get a one sided thumbstud on a custom lefty folder that I never let anyone else touch.

Spyderhole, I've found dual thumbstuds sometimes wave the knife open if you carry tip up, and flippers sometimes get opened if you carry tip down(assuming you carry it near the seam of your pocket).

I've never liked flippers, esp if it requires any wrist action. All Thumb with no wrist movement is whats needed to open from any position, and should be learned by all I feel, but thats just me,lol.
Don't like the flipper sticking out spine either.

The stud or hole works for me, but the hole would be a bit more easy to open with gloves on, or for someone that hasn't played with one handed folders very much.

I prefer holes the best I would say, although studs on the Sebenza and Umnumzaan are great too.
