Is this knife only made with ss handles?? Has anyone seen it with a different handle material?

They are releasing a G-10 model later this year, but, besides that, I have only seen limited runs and custom mods with different handles.

Yes it has come with carbon fiber, G-10 ,aluminum uncoated & tuffram coated & carbo nitrate (possibly not correct spelling) coated stainless .
I wish they would relaese an etched stainless handle like the cricket.

Currently it is stainless only. In the past it has been made with other materials, but they have never sold as well as the stainless handles. Go figure. The new G-10 model looks great, I'll have to get one when they become available here, even though it's too long for me to carry legally here.

I am definitely down for a G-10 Police as well. It will go nicely with my PE and SE Stainless. The ultimate would be an etched stainless model, IMO.

There ought to be a Special Police Model with a sporty "suction-grip holes" (similar to Pacific Cutlery's Butterfly Knife's SS handles) bored into titanium handles; along with the option to fasten different pre-cut scale materials to univerally fit onto either single side of the handle. That could be G-10 in a spectrum of available colors, CF, diamond-checked alloy scales...

I wonder how much more expensive the G-10 model will be..

I noticed the huge price jump in the new G-10 delicas and enduras..

I didn't know that G-10 was that much more expensive than FRN or SS

Believe the MSRP will be around $200, which would put the street price in the $130-$140 range. Do be aware that, although it's called the Police there are differences. It has a 50/50 choil and the blade is full flat ground with no swedge grind.

cool.. sounds almost like... a longer.. thinner... millie! lol j/k, looking forward to it. how they have some mighty fine SE versions. (though I have to admit I always felt that Spyderco's hollow ground SE's were sharper than the flat ground ones).

The new G-10 Police looks a lot like a stretched C54 Calypso. Yes, minus swedge and plus liners, but the resemblence is there. Since I love the Calypso, I have to say this is a good thing. :D

As far as price goes on the new Police as well as the G-10 Delica and Endura, all three are essentially entirely new models, with all new tooling required. The Delica and Endura may share a couple of parts with the FRN version (lockbar and barrel screws, maybe) and the blades may be ground from the same blanks as the others, but that is about it. I don't think they plan to produce enough of the G-10 version to divide the tooling cost over a zillion pieces the way they do the FRN molds. That is bound to drive the price up.
