Just a quick question. Am I the only person who has trouble with the Spyderco website? It moves very slow and jumpy. Happy New Year

On the Spyderco forum it has been announced that they have a new webmaster who is slowly making changes to the site. That might be why it is acting weird for you.

We had a big thread awhile back about the lack of updates and old information still on the site. I guess Sal listened to us and decided to catch up with the times. On the 'net, that is. They are already ahead of the curve in knife design, materials, and QC :D

chickenplucker, the same exact thing happens to me, the page takes forever to load, and then loads from the top down. at which point scrolling is just impossible. i hope whatever is wrong is fixed soon, i miss the forum

There hasn't been any problems with the Spyderco forum on their website.

In addition too the problems Kronos mentioned, the site almost freezes entirely for me whether going backwards or forwards. It takes 4 or 5 minutes just too look at 1 page of 10 knives and thats just scrolling down.

Lots of threads there which are heavy on photographs. Many of those photos are large and high res, and a number of them are being hosted on websites which have relatively low speed service. No clue where you are located, your connection speed and the thru put of your ISP could also be part of your problem. You can bookmark this link to the "office friendly" version of the Spyderco factory forums and use it. Not the greatest way to view the site, as it's hard to tell when something is a being quoted from an earlier post, and the threads are always listed in the order they were started, so there's no way to tell which have been posted to recently, but there are no photos to slow things down.

You could also visit the site in the normal way but choose the option in your User CP to not load images. That's probably the most sensible route. If you elect to solve the problem that way, you then have the option to open individual images, whether they be inline or attachments, one at a time. If you're using Firefox, they even open up in new tabs.
