has anyone had a chance to compare spyderco Matriarch and Spyderhawk side by side, in terms of performance? cutting, slashing, etc? and are they similar in dimensions? I see some stats on Knifecenter site, but that's it. thanks. dave

Actually, the Spyderhawk IMO would be the better for cutting & slashing
as the tip isn't a delicate as the Matriarch's ( which BTW is a "specialized self defense weapon" as
a "back-up" for cops whether "on" or
"off duty";)) which may have a tendency to break under heavy use.
Want a good price on the Matriarch?

www.1SKS.com ( One Stop Knife Shop)

Had'em for about $50

Spyderhawk should follow none-too-soon!;)

AET ;)

Matriarch is a last ditch SD knife. I recall that and the Civilians are classified as such if you break it on utility tasks, Spyderco would not warranty them because of its function.

So i guess a Spyderhawk is a Merlin on steroids. One choice for big hands/one choice for small hands.
