I owned a spyderco knife a few years back and it was one of the cheapest pieces of junk I ever owned.
Do you know what model it was? Spyderco has an incredible variety of shapes and sizes of blades and handles and materials. Some of them are finesse and some are brute force. Some of what people think are Spyderco are really the very similar China cheapie clones.

spyderco is pretty good imho, lots of good designs, my best bud dislikes them but he had only seen delicas/enduras/etc and dislikes FRN, he kinda likes several of mine now that he's seen them.

they are more utlitarian than EKI imho.

Sorry, I don't remember. I got it when I was younger and didn't really pay attention to waht it was. It looked cool, but felt, acted, and performed really cheaply. Oh well, I will have to get my hands on a newer one to see what this is all about.

he is comparing a chisel grind blade w/a 'V' grind i guess, i can tell ya the chisel grind may not be as sharp, but its plenty sharp enough for the intended use of the knife......

a proper chisel grind will cut as well or better than a V
