Can't really tell by the picture on my phone but it looks like a head shot. Nice bag my friend. Hope you get more.

That HR is sweet man! Been on the prowl for one just like it. Is it 12 or .410?

Sweet shot, and congrats on a good meal too! :)

Spooky its actually a rossi matched pair, (has a .410, and a .22 barrel) it;s a nice piece although I migh have to bring it to the smith, as I'm having some probems with the ejector.

Ha, oops! Forend should have given it away I guess. Looks good! Might have to pick one up.

Nice shot. Aim small miss small. No waste of meat. Most excellent. I'll have to take some pics one of these days.

How's Squirrel taste ?

Tastes slightly gamey, but, nice and lean. Growing up my grandma always broke them down and seasoned with salt and pepper then fried nice and golden brown in a bit of oil in an iron skillet. Removed the fried squirrel and made a simple milk and flour gravy in the pan... little more salt and pepper, then, added the squirrel back to the pan and simmered while the biscuits finished up in the oven..... Add fried potatoes, pinto beans and the afore mentioned biscuits to your squirrel gravy and watch out son.... your belly will thank you and you will need a nice long nap in a comfy chair by the fire. I needs to visit my Gran's.....;)

yepo!!!! That is how to eat em!

Haven't had it for a few years, but I did use to enjoy squirrel stew.

A friend of mine once baked one without disjointing it. When he served it on the table, all four limbs were sticking up, making it quite evident what was for dinner. His four-year old daughter took offense, and said, "You KILLED it, you bad daddy!" That was some 30 years ago, and I still grin remembering it.

Finally took the hunter safety course again, and got my hunting license again, after letting it lapse when I was in the service. I went squirrel hunting for the first time in 30 years last Saturday. They are usually all over the place standing around talking shit, acting all pissed off that I am around in their yard. Walked around for 3 hours for over 2.5 miles and didn't see or hear a single one talking shit. They stand around and talk big until you are standing there with a gun and then they can't be found anywhere.

Short of not seeing a damn thing it was really great being out again and last weekends weather was spectacular.

Seriously, are there lots fewer squirrels around this year? I can't remember walking in the woods and not seeing or hearing at least one.

Good score RR.
