It may be an old thread...pls correct me or steer me...
thing is, i collect em to stare at em...but sumtimes i actually read a thread or two...then i try em
came up with this conclusion...

P4 Squirt
You have to feel it to believe it
Actually rather nice
Quality
When it opens...its way bigger...
Good tool selection...
Value for money
Works
one major problem...

MiniChamp
Exactly same dimensions as squirt- give or take man

actually rather nice
no pliers...

MiniChamp fires up a firesteel like its bigger brothers...(Farmer, Soldier,Pioneer,OHT, Champ) like no prob...on minor blade...
Squirt had issues with all implements...from file to blade...hassles with LMF

You may know this already, but just in case you don't, pretty well any sharp edge will work a firesteel, including glass and stone, so the issues with the firesteel are probably more profile related (how sharp the edge is) rather than type of steel, etc.

Doc, I"ll stand corrected.
Anyone willing to fire up a firesteel with ANY implement from a Squirt P4 and then from a MiniChamp's extra blade?

I could be wrong here...but i'm open...
 
I just got sparks from mischmetal and ferro using the file on the P4. None of the other implements would do it, but the file worked.
