Sr Edc

I think you made the right call. I much prefer the Res-C handles to the new Mischief handles. I have the YKLE and did not warm to it right away but it has grown on me and now I am glad I hung on to it. I have almost finished bringing the edge down to 20 degrees on a Lansky which took a LONG time but makes it a wicked slicer. I did not like the original CG Mutt but this new full height grind (on both the YKLE and the new MuttLE) really makes the thick blade able to cut once it has been reprofiled.

I EDC'd my SS4 for a long time and have since went to a neck knife(Strider ED or Swarden) and a folder but just because I wanted a change. When it comes to concealing a knife it is not how long it is but how fat it is. My SS Spyderco Police has a HUGE blade but is so slim it carries really well.

One good reason is that a fixed blade is superior in every way to a folder. . . ;)

Folders compromise on everything for a little easier mode of carry.

I really like folders, and yet I must agree with Rat.

I tend to EDC an custom Busse Active Duty or Game Warden. These are smaller knives than the Swamp Rats the OP is considering...

Nothing beats a skelly for EDC. They are so slim they just disappear in your pockets.

Yah, I hear ya... I'm hoping its not too fat - or heavy.

I'd like a Swamp Warden, to be sure.... very cool little knife with a bit of paracord wrapping....

I agree. I work in a store dealing with customers all day, and that store has a strict "no weapons/no open-blades" policy. I still manage to EDC 4 blades - a Rat Trap, an SS4, a Skeleton Key, and a small Leatherman on my keyring. The only one visible is the Rat Trap (the clip, mainly). I do have the advantages of being the manager and also working with some really cool guys, but where there's a will, there's a way!
