hi guys first off all i want to let u know that im not talking down or insulting lionsteel or any thing its just im a little pissed and i wanna know if this is normal and i know you guys would be too,so with that said il begin. .ive always read that yea lionsteels fit and finish is amazing yea italy yea that but honestly guys i dont see it, now idk if its mines but im very disapointed i bought 2 sr1's and both came with the same issues. and guys for a $200 knife i expect nothing but quality, ive had spydercos costing half ass much or even less and thier fit is perfect blade is super centered and all. .now wih that being said guys please tell me what i should do and if this is normal, now yes i know i can send it to lionsteel problably and they will take care of me but ot pisses me off that i have to do so being a $200 knife thats no joke its not 2 cents and pay shipping and problably a month to receive it again. So sorry guys again i in no way am trash talking lionsteel or its user i myself bought it becouse the great things i heard of them so that being said thanks in advance.

again guys i understand sometimes all things cant be perfect but thats ok for a 20 dollar knife not for this.thanks

I just bought a SR-1B and it does not appear to have any issues like this. The only issue that I have found was that a very small portion of the bronzing wore off on the box that it came in. I would not consider sending the knife back for anything other then the blade centering...I did start a thread in the LionSteel forum to see what was said and if it is a repetitive issue but very little feedback thus far. Not too burst your bubble but a $200 knife is not a custom, $200 is not really that much too spend on a knife and if there are finish issues it kind of is what it is. The fit is another issue though, if both blades are off center like that without a reason I would be concerned and complain also.

yea semms pretty tihht to me i will try n tighten it more at home i just wanted to post it how it came before i touched it. .i took apart my other one to see if i can fix it but im having hard time putting the washers back in.this one i havent touched and the other one was just as bad..it just pisses me off u know that i have to do this when i really shoudnt this should come perfect becouse it sure does have a perfect prictag for thier profit

yes i understand that for u a finish issue is nothing on a $200 knife sure its not custom but ive had many other not custom knifes for half that with no finish issues u know what i mean

I definately know what you mean, it is a disappointment when something seems flawed or has an unexpected "issue". But the real question is when does it become anal retentive, when we notice one issue we tend to pick the rest apart and find problems that we would have never even noticed prior. I whole heartedly agree that I would either send it back to the dealer or send it to LionSteel for the blade centering.

Send it back! That's un acceptable.

yea i might have too if i cant get it to center by the pivot. .but the blade is tight and theres quiet bit of friction to open as it is, idk if tightening the pivot will problaby make it impossible to open

I think everyone just misunderstanding the quality on SR-1, the fit and finishing quality is not superb, it's just at the same category as ZT and BM. What made us feel superb is the feeling of special design.
My blade and aluminum handle are uneven in some point, and my laser engraving had some issue, too. But I think it's acceptable because for the price I got which is less then 200 brand new, it's still worth every penny.

For titanium version which cost 400, it really shouldn't happen either one of these problem.

I've had this problem as well. if I tighten it as much as I can it will get the blade centered but the knife is hard enough to open as it is. Off centered doesn't bother me but if I loosen the pivot it works it's way loose after opening it a bunch of times. I really like the knife but mine definitely has some issues too.

yea i know thats what i was imagining it would do. My other one is on the way i receive it tomorrow so i hope it aint messed up too

I disagree with the bolded part. The fit and finish issues i've seen on some of these LionSteel knives is subpar and not in the same class as BM or ZT or Spydero or even Kershaw.

I know what you mean. Maybe I was a little exaggerate, but noticeable uneven grind blade and handle and the brown things on the engraving on my knife, it definitely not at the same category with CRK and Spyderco.

I had same issue with centering, i tightened it till it was centered with loctite. It felt a little tight to open so i dropped some mineral oil in and it was a little better. After using it for a week or so the pivot was still tightened cause the blade was still centered but now it flicks open with ease. Im not gonna sit here and name names of other companys but i will say i would definitely put it up there with the best production knives out there today.http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/904997-Ti-SR-1

Sorry I can not see the images from this 3D.
Anyway all LionSteel knives are under warranty, if there is any problem you can send a mail to info@lionsteel.it we always take care for all the problems.

Please send me a mail with all the images so I can give you a better answer

On the two SR-1's I have I cannot point out a single flaw and I'm as OCD as they come! I can/will nitpick a knife to death and become acquainted with any flaw that may be there, but for the life of me I can't find anything wrong on the SR-1's I have. For me the overall quality is as good as BM and Spyderco, if not better, and the monoblock handle is only found on the LionSteel knife! I hope that the one coming today is of the same quality, no issues, as the two I have. Your's are the SR-1A's, correct? Even though, the same fit/finish should be there as on the ti models. I'm sure that LionSteel will take care of you, but it is a hassle to have to send them oversea's and then await their return!

yea sure does suck to wait for overseas shipping. .

boosted, check your stop pin screw. If it is as tight as it will go, try backing it off a little bit and see if it affects blade centering. Also something I've done on liner/frame locks for a blade that is not centered, is to see which side the blade is closer too when closed. Then I open it and apply pressure on the flat of the blade and push the blade towards the side it was closer too. It helps to slightly, 1/8 turn, loosen the pivot from where you want it to be, and then retighten it. This has worked for me more times than not, but I do not know about a frame and handle that are made from one piece, but it won't hurt to try.
