I think it is an interesting comparison because SR101(52100) is as much edge retention as you can get in a pure carbon steel and ZDP is as much as you can get if you pull out all the stops as far as alloys and stainless ,so how much there actually is of a difference is a good question.
I am have a ZDP and 52100 knives in very similar edge geometry and the ZDP is a bit better but not by much and a lot of that seems to have more to do with how toothy the edge is on the ZDP knife. I wish i had a big ZDP knife with the same edge geometry as one of the diff tempered rats because I have a hunch that the diff tempered SR101 has a higher hardness than the through hardened stuff so it might do even better against the ZDP.
