I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it with a search so....

I've got buffalo scales and they are a bit warped. I boiled them and clamped them up between two straight pieces of wood. It helped somewhat but they still are warped. Did I not boil them long enough? I only boiled them for about 10 minutes or so. Would it be better to put them in the vise to cool? They are about 3/8" thick.

Thanks!

Clamp them flat, and put them in an oven at 225 degrees for 20 minutes. Make sure the temperature does not go over 250 degrees. Turn the oven off, and let them cool to room temperature in the oven. You may still have to do some sanding to get them perfectly flat.
