SRK in CPM 3V?

Anything's possible. They've just changed them to VG-1 for 2015, but who knows what 2016 will bring? I'd like to see all their hard use fixed blades go to 3V (or, rather, at least have a 3V option).

I was hoping for a 3V SRK too....but when I saw the AK47 Field Knife I ordered one immediately because it seems to fit in the same category as the SRK, tough utility /survival knife, and has a more durable handle... Well, maybe not quite as comfortable as the kraton handle but I think it will be a great and very robust knife

Good call on that. The SRK's handle is nice, but it has a tendency to gum up and loosen from the tang over time. Those G10 scales on the AK47 field knife should definitely hold up better. I'm really looking forward to that knife.

I know slabs are more durable... but something about the SRK is just "right". Maybe it's because the SRK was the first really decent knife I had as a youngster. My Dad bought me one when I was 14 and I beat that thing to death before losing it on a camping trip. It's one of my personal all time favorite knives. And I've owned everything from the bottom to the top of the line.

Now if they made an SRK with slabs without changing a single dimension of the knife... that'd be my jam also.

I totally agree with you here. The size, balance, and feel of the SRK are just about perfect for me. I'm waiting for 3V also - Lynn, are you reading this? :D

I agree, the SRK is just an awesome outdoors blade that isn't to heavy but can get the job done. One of my favorites although I own more expensive blades.

Im glad to hear I'm not the only one. Ive had knives from $10 to $1000 and still favor the SRK, Recon Scout and Trail Master even over my Busses.

Those beauties were mine. The only bad thing was the G10 changed the original amazing balance considerably. But the sure were purty 😉

I didn't even think of that. Was the G-10 lighter than the rubber, making the knife more blade heavy?

Just found it on Massdrop today, how's the heat treat on this production knife when compared to brk, and other well tested 3v blades? 126 is decent but that 1-2 months wait tho.
