SS Delica Grip Tape

I put 3M marine no sand grip tape on a ss delica. The grip is improved and isn't so slippery when wet.

On a side note, I read a lot on various forums that the new D4 Delicas have an inherent amount of vertical blade movement when locked. This SS Delica has negative blade movement in any direction when locked. This is the tightest lockback I own period, and this is my 10th delica with many other lockback spydercos, as well.

Hope you like it,

I do like it. . .as someone who habitually modifies his knives, I always get a kick out of seeing others' ingenuity at work. Functional and looks good, what more could you ask for in a simple mod like that? Good job!

Very original work. Good idea too. To aid in better grip I mean.
It's almost like a "poor man's" G10 Delica. Would the tape be easy to remove if needed?
Great job!

Yep, the tape comes right off. The tape's durability is excellent; I've had an old police model that has had the first application of tape on it since 2001. The colors come in grey and black.

Where do you guys find this skateboard/hockey stick/marine grip tape at?

I've walked aimlessly around 2 local Wal-Marts in several different departments and still come up empty!

Can' t quite make it out from the pics. But is the surface rubber or "sandpaper"? I hope the lining in your pocket is made of kevlar! :)

I' ve used a fine textured skateboard tape on many of my folders for years now. But only on the pivot bolt area and partially on the pocket clip. This allows for a quick and secure draw for tip up carry.

Symphonyincminor, let me know if you want to try some. I I have a few strips I can spare. PM me.

Simple, but well done. Looks like you matched the handle contours exactly. I'm surprised this is so durable, yet easy to remove!

Not a bad idea with the grip tape and the way you've applied it looks good.

With respect to vertical blade play in the newer Delicas, I've also been reading that, but the Delica 4 in ZDP-189 i just acquired (I have another on the way along with an Endura in ZDP-189) has zero blade play in any direction...it is truly rock-solid, a pocket scapel, and my current favorite EDC! :D
