I haven't made up my mind on this one... I usually stay away from assisted knives but I love the design. I wish they would have made it like the 3600.

It is a good lookin knife though - I was hoping to hear some thoughts from those that had purchased one.

I don't believe they are released yet. The new Zing SS and Volt SS both look nice from what I remember when I saw them back in.. I think it was January, at a local outdoor show.

The Volt is for sale on several sites. Some places already have user reviews, hard to tell if the reviewers have any point of reference though. Most reviews you see on these forums are from actual knife people that understand what makes a good knife and what makes an awesome knife.

Cool knife but i have enough 8Cr13MOV kershaws and bead blast for that matter...I want more stonewashed or satin finish even

The original Volt was limited production. The Volt 2 is still on sale. *start edit* Looks like a few sites have these! But I've only found 2 and they say limited stock. Get them now if these interest you! *end edit*

With a finite production schedule I think I'd put the time in to producing 50,000 (or however many) more Cryos and also the Cryo II that I know are going to sell like heroin outside a methadone clinic (yeah, not very PC.. sorry.. I'll come up with a more PC analogy later) rather than gambling on something that might just sit on shelves unsold. If Cryo sales slow down a bit we may see these in large numbers eventually but there are also always new knives in the pipeline that we haven't heard about yet that also have to fit in to a schedule somehow.

Ok well I just noticed that it doesn't have the same goofy clip as the nylon handled one so I went ahead and ordered.

I will let y'all know when it comes in.

It does appear they are in stock at the river! Thanks HwR for the info! I'm ordering one also! I'm not sure how I missed picking one of these up earlier!

Don't wait another second... just buy this knife. In my opinion it is a much nicer knife that the cryo for the same price. Smooth assisted opening, comfortable handle, awesome blade, perfect jimping, nice frame lock action very smooth, nice pocket clip (not funky/stupid looking).

Awesome buy for the price. If they made this knife in titanium with better steel it would be unbelievable.

The lack of lefty clip options kind of sours this for me. I don't know why they couldn't at least put one clip spot on the other side.

They did. And it WAS awesome :)

When the 3600 came out I was into different knives. I just wish they would make a new version just a Ti frame lock with a decent steel. That would be perfect. ZT has one coming out that is based on the same design but that is over 6 oz. that is a little heavy for edc. I will probably get it anyway though I love RJ's designs.

As for the detent, I have not tried. Does not appear to have a hole for the detent ball to rest in, but that can easily be corrected. I usually break in the knife for a few weeks and by then the detent ball has scratched the blade well enough to determine exactly where to drill the tiny hole. Then I just tweak it until the detent is strong enough for you to build up a bit of pressure on the flipper before it overcomes the hole.

This is an awesome knive though, the Volt II was a little chunky in the pocket, but this thing is really thin.

got one a couple of days ago, real nice ,do love the clip-feels nice in the pocket despite it's weight-cuts good ,super smooth, excellent price...thinking about getting a back-up

I want one, but I am a deep carry clip convert now, and it looks like the screws are too close together for a foldover or an aftermarket.

Mine showed up today and I am very impressed, I love it! I was not expecting much but this is a really nice knife, especially for the price.Dead centered blade, solid lock up and a flawless finish (Well, I messed with that a little bit), also the clip is much improved over the Volt II. I had to learn to enjoy my Cryo, but this felt right as soon as I picked it up.

Kershaw, Great job!

I wanted to get one when I realised it was slightly bigger than the regular Volt so I backed off. I like my blades small =D

Mine should arrive by the weekend, as I noticed my original assumption of no lefty clip was incorrect. Woot!
