SS Volt - anyone bought one yet?

I got mine a couple of days ago and really liking it. It's approximately 7.75" OA length... larger than the Volt II. It is very comfortable in hand and built rock solid. Solid lock-up, zero blade play... Wicked Sharp. The only down side... at least with the one I received, is that when the blade is opened, you can hear the "speed safe system"/spring bar rattle. Not a big deal for me... Just curious if anyone else has noticed this???

Kershaw yet again, Hit A Home Run with this model :thumbup::thumbup:!!! Take Good Care and Be Safe Always.

I heard the rattle but when I opened it up I filled the cavity with some high temp grease and that took care of it.

I did pick one up, and I am impressed by the thinness and lightness. I see it is only a 1/3 oz. heavier than the new Cryo, but it is a full sized knife. I am really at the limit of all the 8cr13mov imports from China that a person should have (nothing against China, it's just that I have a lot of pretty much the same thing,) but I am glad I picked this knife up.

I am really enjoying my Volt SS. I can't believe that it is all stainless steel. but yet it is about the same weight as the FRN handled import Speedsafe Kershaws. At 4.4 oz. and being so thin, this knife is a snap to carry. The lockup is great and there is no blade play at all. The knife is very sharp out of the box, and I love the blade grind. I know import Speedsafes are not made from premium materials, but the design is so nice that I think a even a fan of high end knives would enjoy this blade. I used to have a Shallot, and I may have to go back and check one out again because I think all steel framelocks makes a whole lot of sense and should be a lot more common. Here are some picks of my Volt with my RAM for comparison.

can someone check to see if there is a detent ball or if the spring is what holds the blade closed?

When I saw the SS Volt I had to get one and see how it looked with a little Carbon Fiber.
It is awesome, Thin and Light and assisted...
I like the lack of a Thumb Stud, Sleek in your pocket

I need one of those scales for mine! Uh, ummm, I mean, after Christmas, when I get it from my wife....

You drilled a hole for the detent ball?
No, I milled out the scale, it's still assisted opening.
Not as fast as the Cryo, I guess that's because it is a bigger blade with almost exactly the same spring.
It's also new, so maybe it will break in a little.

Wow, the carbon fiber scales on there sure make that a new knife, I went with the zing because it was slightly smaller but I really would prefer that volt blade shape, nice work!

Took knife apart hung scales and clip on wire used a rosebud on torch heated it evenly until nice bronze color. Im not worried about warranty so dont do it if you are.

I gotta Say I personally LOVE mine. I took the shoulders off the secondary grind and its scary.
Next buy .... The new Zing SS. If its anything like the Volt, it may actually bump the volt only because ov the blade restrictions in my area for length.
Heck of a knife, and amazing for the price.

I have a zing SS and like it quite a bit. I wish it had the darker color treatment of the Cryo because it seems like a flashy white piece to me but it's very thin, easy to carry, and sharp. The blade shape is different but functional, the only thing that kept me so long in ordering it was the clip, I just don't care for the fancy clip.
