SSSSSSSS Let's see some Snakewood!

One other thing..... Renaud Aubry calls his snakewood (amourette) letterwood..... jeez, this stuff gets confusing!
Letter wood ( lettre mouchetée #speckled letter) is another name for the Amourette because it was used in printing works to make block letters, then replaced by lead.

Your Lo8 is curious in that it has the color and some lines of bois de serpent yet it also shows the eyes, typical of amourette but much smaller than usual. Maybe it comes from another part of the wood/world. I have never seen one so clear. This gives the knife a supplementary uniqueness.
Even more confusing, on the Peceval site in English, both bois de serpent and amourette are translated snakewood...

^^ That is a great looking knife T. Erdelyi! I really like the way the bolsters are done. The red liners make it POP. Very unique.

Here's mine that I picked up recently.

Love this thread. Makes me really jealous at the same time. My favorite type of wood. I will come back with a pic of my Toothpick in snakewood, but that is the only one for now. They don't seem to surface very often on the exchange. I spent a lot of time on moderns and missed the snakewood runs on some great patterns.

I did end up finding a thin plank at the Ft. Worth Woodcraft outlet. Currently working on a project for a modern Benchmade folder.

Amazing collection, Bozak! I assume you're going to pick up a #47 in snakewood, haha. I was thinking about a Viper in snakewood (only fitting). I think your pictures have convincedme of what iI'm missing. Thanks for sharing!

I do not prefer sssssnakes (understatement -- {{shudder}}), so have typically eschewed snakewood simply because of the name

Well thissss one isss sssspecially for you:D

This wasn't as easy as the normal photo shoot of knives.
