St Patty's day, something with a little Green

Gary....might I suggest a lighted magnifying glass on a retractable lamp arm? I bought this one and love it.

I put one of those curly 60 W equivalent ECObulbs in it and it throws quite a bit of light right where you need it. You might also do well with a 60 to 100 W Equiv. LED light bulb. I use the 100 W LED equiv. bulbs in the sockets of my basement and they really do throw some good light [I have 3 in the basement/general lighting sockets].

One thing I should mention is that the lamp head is a little heavy for the pivoting "elbow" joints and will require occasional tightening with a screwdriver....and....the way I have my work station set up, I had to reverse the lamp head from how it was originally installed on the arm.

The lamp head has a 180* swivel with a stop, which is great if you mount it on the right side of your body. The way my work station is laid out, I needed it on the left. I removed the head from the mounting socket, "spun" the head 180* and reinstalled it. Was less than 3 minutes work and now angling the head/glass is perfect for me.

I also ran screws through the mounting holes in the base and directly into my tabletop. The included clamping plate was too 'slick' to stay put, and adjusting the lamp head often caused the clamp to slip off. Its a good lamp and the glass is a HUGE help for detail work.

Thanks! that looks like a handy thing to have and not to hard on the wallet either, but I'm not planning on doing much more that might require that, but once we finally sell our house and move to a new place AND if I get a dedicated work shop, that will be on the list !
