Stabalize mammoth ivory

I suspect you could use a vacuum system, but the thought of CA vapors in the vacuum pump sounds like a good way to seize the system up solid.

CA does cure faster by warming it a bit (not hot, just warmer). However, in stabilizing mammoth you don't want to speed things up.

Placing a glass of warm/hot water near the ivory while it cures is fine in an area with low humidity. In Norfolk, VA we don't need anything to help the humidity.

Tip:
If you are gluing something and want to speed set CA, use baking soda. A pinch sprinkled on the joint will set it instantly. It may get hot, and will certainly stick to what it is sitting on, so place the object on a sheet of saran wrap.
