Bram, your point is well taken as far as unintentionally unlocking the blade with the backwards way of holding the knife, but wouldn't the blade miss the fingers and hit the hand instead? At least that's the way it looks to me if you hold the handle with natural grips.

Axel

Sal - do you recommend sending both the Starmate and the Shabaria to you (testing and maybe fixing the problem)???

Thank you for your service and your kind approach.

The Gunting is completely stable in respect to spine whacks and blade torques. As for how it compares to the Rolling lock, I have not used on yet but have a couple coming from a forum member so I should be able to compare them soon.

Axel - I would be curious as to which animals have their sharp edge inward?

Cliff - Thanx.

Blil - That's what I would recommend.

Axel..Ok depending on whether I'm drawcutting, heavy gripping whatever changes where the blade actually cuts me..Ok my Endura is in my hand..
reverse grip havey grip it cuts offthe base of my palm..
reverse grip slashing it cuts off my picky, my ring finger and if pushed farenough my middle finger...gads this hurts..
i'm using an Endura with the edge taken down but the steel banging into my fingers and hand still hurts..
forward sabre style grip I lose my thumb or thumb webbing..poof gone!
slashing style I lose my index finger top joint, my middle finger..GADS! look at that imprint on my finger actually IN MY FINGER..
good thing its not live..and ONLY steel..
Ok..I tested it live time...
dedication to SPYDERCO products..
hmm in reverse grip left handed I seem to cut right through my wrist and radial tendon..hhmmmmmm

Hi Sal,

I have the old model Civilian with the aluminum grip and rubber inserts. The insert has started to peel off. Any recommendations on glue to use to reattach? Thanks.

Mark

Mark - Many glues will work. Even crazy glue. We use special glues here if you want to send it in.
