Stabilization vacuum chamber

Hi friends, this is my first post, let me introduce myself, my name is Amos Nu�ez from Albacete (Spain),the city of the knives in Spain, we have an small retail shop of knives in the city center and also website, just pointed the site if you want to have a look, just wanted to tell you that I would like to learn from you quite a lot about all related to cutlery and similar.

Today, I need some help from you, please, I want to stabilize some wooden blocks but how can make it??? what kind of stuff should I use to stabilize the blocks?? how can I built a stabilization vacuum chamber?? May you help me??

Thank you very much pbmonkey, I see it is a good idea and practical process, sure i will try it, however, in the tutorial the wooden block is drilled almost 11cm, deep hole, i would like also to try not drilling at all, that´s why my question about the vacuum chamber, any idea of how to build a vacuum chamber??

It is expensive and the results can be less than perfect, but some try to stabilize their own wood.
