Wanted to update:
I've got 6 knives to re handle now that were originally done in this pinecone material. 5 for customers and 1 of our own. K & G has been fantastic to work with over this deal and stepped up to the plate. They are replacing all handle materials. Going with stabilized wood this time around. They received info from their supplier that the pinecone material should be worked with numerous coats of superglue throughout the handle shaping process. Basically like mammoth tooth. Just wanted to tie up loose ends.
