Stabilized Wood slab problems

I ordered a pair of red stabilized burly maple and I was going to use it today and I saw that there were small cracks around the burly areas. There were maybe 5 on each scale or so. They arent real long or real wide, maybe a few millimeters long and less than a fingernail thickness.
Are these asthetic in nature since the wood is stabilized or should I return them? I know wood will naturally have things like that and the wood seems nice enough, just dont want to put all that work into something that might break.
If it is just aesthetic then what can I do to fix the problem?
Try cramming some super glue in the cracks?
Thanks for the help

That is normal, almost all my redwood burl is that way. Fill the cracks with super glue. After shaping the scales to nearly finished, and apply super again, sand, re-apply, etc. until the cracks are gone.

I don't believe I would call that esthetic. I don't use any wood at this time but from what I see for sale I wouldn't expect or accept that. Sure, on the other hand some crazy glue will fill the holes. Frank

Stabilizing will not fill voids and yes, some hairlines are normal, especially in extreme burl. Even the stuff from WSSI has it on some woods. It is to be expected. If you returned all of those pieces, you would be missing out on some of the most beautiful wood.

While there may or may not be quality issues with your stabilized wood, the tiny fissures are not likely an issue beyond some CA filling for finish.
