stabilized woods vs micarta for dust safty

All dust particulates are bad. I'm sure what species of wood would affect the danger # in decibels. But whats the point. They'll all kill you.

Andy summed it up well. Besides killing you, some people find out they are seriously alergic to several woods we use for handles. Even just skin contact results in a reaction. Reguardless of what you use, always take full precautions.

The gentlemen above are right, there's no sense in gambling with any of it. Take care of yourself :)

From strictly a chemical standpoint micarta dust I would expect to be more harmful, like said some woods are toxic and you may have an allergic reation to some but there are acute and chronic effects from micarta due to the size and shape of the dust particals developed. In any case use breathing protection and dust collection. I sand micarta over a bucket of water and keep it wet, i also wear rubber gloves, seems to bother my skin as well.

Agree with everything above + G10 and carbon fiber are the most harmful (same makeup--fiberglass that causes Mesothelioma) definitely don't take chances with that one. I make sure and vacuum after I use G10. It suspends in air for quite awhile so just walking into shop exposes you so take extra precautions.
