can any one tell me a easy and prefibly inexpensive way to stabilize wood at home thanks for the help chris :)

That tutorial looks like it would work. Definitely do it outside away from a heat source, sparks, etc. That wood hardener is nasty stuff.

If you're chicken like me, look into a stabilizing service. I can't think of the one most folks around here use, but this one popped up in google.

Their quote for clear stabilizing is $12.50 per pound of wood, which doesn't seem that expensive to me. It gets cheaper the more you send them. Having your wood dyed costs more.

that first meathod kinda scares me not to sure i'm ballsy enough to try that plus my gf would probley kill me any other ideas i'll maybe give those guys a call

Would you shape to the desired size of the handle and then send it out, or do you send the unshaped stock and then work it??
