Stabilizing and Dyeing Results

Has anyone had any trouble glueing/epoxying the home hardened woods? What did you use?
Would a seam on a wood sheath be virtually invisible or what?
How about the same concerns with the stuff from WSSI?

Personally, I do my own wood for several different reasons-

1. I'm stubborn and want to do it myself!
2. I can do a LOT of wood for less than the commercial outfits.
3. I've seen some stuff stabilized by an un-named outfit that wasn't worth crap!
4. I'm stubborn and want to do it myself!
5. I can tailor different color combinations to fit what I want done.
6. Did I mention I was stubborn?

FWIW, I've done mammoth & oosik myself.....turned out fine.

I think Harry said it all. It's nice to make a blade and be able to put the exact handle material you envisioned on it. Plus I like to use native woods and elk antler and don't want to have to be sending it off all the time.
