Need some advice on stabilizing Mammoth Ivory. I have found a beautiful piece of Mammoth Blue Bark, but it has some small surface cracks. My question is, if you vaccume stabilize Ivory with clear resin will it fill the small surface cracks sufficiently to polish smooth?
Any advice or response will be appreciated.
Thanks

Killing the dog wont cure the bite.

Try super glue (the thin type). Keep filling it and building layers. Sometimes I use some ivory dust for big cracks. The other choice is to send it to put it in a vacum then fill the pours with a sealing agent..
THere are several folk out there that do this for a very resonable price.
Heres a number of a fellow who has excellent Ivory and does pressure treating also.
