I just started using that little vacuum in my shop. It uses about as much air to run as a sander or grinder so you will need a large compressor to make it work. I have had very good luck with a mix of Thompsons Waterseal and just a little polyurathane getting the mix well into the middle of a 1 1/4 x 2 1/2 x 5 inch block of curly maple. Other spicies have been a little more resistant to this system. I have not hooked up my guages yet to see what kind of vacuum I am getting but it seems to work as well as the old hand pump that I have used in the past. I need to work out a valve that will release the vacuum slowly into the chamber, I think that will help the process of filling the cells with the mixture. What the heck, go ahead and buy the thing for $16 or wait for it to go on sale for $10 like I did. Have fun, it's one of those "see how it works out for you" projects without a lot of expense.
