Recommendation? Stack and profile blanks with a CA glue

Here are some pics they sent me. Apparently it weighs 120 kg all together.

A machinish/knifemaker friend make multiple knives of the same design. He drills the tang holes and bolts the bars together. Don't know why I didn't remember that earlier.

If one of those thread cutting drill bits works then it would be a quick job to screw them together and still be able to work on the table. I will experiment and see what work. Still a drop of CA on both ends between layers would be the quickest I think. Sandwiching more layers would maybe be even more rigid and less likely to vibrate or rip free.

Not just drop of CA ......don t spare on glue ,use it as it is free :D After you done little heat and you done .It is easy to clean up rest from blank .

I don't see how clamps would work while profiling on the table?
Yeah, that'd be tough. I guess I missed the table part. I don't always use a table, and never have when doing what I suggested the times I wanted to have matching profiles.

So I read this post last night and was actually right in the middle of doing 3 identical knives. So I figured I would give it a try.

I first profiled them individually as close to shape as possible. Then stacked all three with a small drop of CA glue. Took it back to the grinder and refined them all together. Worked great. To separate, after they cooled from the grinder, I dropped them in the freezer for about 10 minutes....pulled them out and a light tap with the hammer and they popped apart no problem.

I’m going to start doing this moving forward.

Good to hear it works!
