O.K., now that I have your attention, I received my Skeleton Wardens today and got right to modifing them, well at least stripping one, I didn't want Skunk to be dissappointed! Now where is that red G-10 handle............:D

You have got yourself a naughty one :D :D :D

me likey. second picture is the best

I like that all nekkid look!

You gonna give it a pass on the scotchbrite wheel???

Great pics!
Does stripping it make a noticable difference in thickness?

They average .196 with the coating and .189 after removal, so not much difference. It would appear they are thicker than the double cut handled ones because they are not flat ground on both sides. The center looks to be machined as opposed to lazer/waterjet cut out, the holes drilled and chanfered, plus the spine is also ground all around.

.007 isn't enought to make a difference for a kydex neck sheath, is it?

My thoughts run toward: using the dickens out of it till the blade coating is just flat worn out, and then stripping it the rest of the way
.

Need more info on stripping!

I don't think the brand of stripper is too important, I used Klean Strip, Strip-X Stripper. Not much to it:

- Place in container ( I have a large glass pan)
- Coat the knife with the stripper
- Wait
- When it starts to lift the paint, you can help it with a brush (if you use a metal wire brush, don't press too hard or you will see the brush marks)
- Rinse with water

You will want to do it in a well ventilated space, the fumes can be bad!

randucci, when are you going to start grinding on that bad boy? :D
