• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I have always admired stacked leather handles, and now want to try making one. Any suggestions on process, securing, shaping, etc?

Heres a link to a shorter version of the second link Kerry posted- I think they are by same person. http://www.brisa.fi/bark1.html I am currently follwing it to make two knives for xmas presents. Learned a couple things DON"T dye the leather when your done (it will be black when your done) just sand to correct smoothness and finish as suggested. Make sure to use a good clamping device when compressing leather. I tried a plastic adjustable clamp and my first knive spacers are cocked and not parallel to blade.

That's even mo bettah. Good stuff

If you wet the leather squares and compress them then dry before glueing on to the handle you can get a more compacted finnish.
