Yup, birch bark. I grew up in Northern Minnesota and the Scandanavian fishermen there used stacked birch bark on the handles of thier knives to prevent slipping. It also gives a nice warm feel to the handle.

ATS34 heat treated to Rc 58-60 by D'Holder.
Cryogenic quench.
Over all length 10 1/2 inches.
Blade: 1/8 x 5 1/4 inches.
Hollow ground with high polish finish.
Leather scabbard.
$125 plus $5 shipping anywhere in the continental US.
Paypal and money order accepted.

Really a very attractive combination. The birchbark looks like stacked leather and combines well with the stag crown. I like it a lot.

You're killin' me. I wait for you to post another bowie, then you do this. I like the birchbark and crown combo. Not to mention a sweet lookin' blade.....
