An unusual antler that has been in my shop for years that I thought might work in a handle some day. It might have been inspiration or maybe the voices in my head but it came to this yesterday. The handle looks like it might be uncomfortable but it fits nicely in my average size hand.
Stock removal from 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated in my Evenheat furnace with three normalizing and two tempering cycles to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain throughout the blade
Flat grind with a mat finish
Stag and bacote handle with brass and g10 fixtures
Overall length: 8 1/2 inches
Blade: 4 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
