Façon, criollo, navaja...the knife of the Argentine gaucho. This is a (certainly post-1943!) model made in Tandil, Argentina. It has integral stick-tang construction, a beautiful stag handle (I assume Patagonian reindeer) and a carbon steel blade with a belt finish. The spacer appears to be silver or nickel silver. The blade steel is a simple carbon steel, I'm assuming 1095 or similar. The sheath is a traditional black leather IWB or thru-belt style (intended to be used similar to a Bowie stud sheath.) The overall package is very nice, with a solid and handmade rustic feel. Considering these were basically used for a personal steak knife, it is well executed and a classy piece altogether. This specimen would make an excellent camp knife, fancy BBQ piece, or all-around belt knife.
The sheath construction allows for comfortable and traditional small-of-the-back carry.
Blade length 6.125”, overall 10.75”, weight with sheath 6.5 oz. Blade has distal taper but is about 1/8-5/32 right in front of the spacer.
Previous collector's images are better than my own attempts:

I will let it go for $115 $105 shipped
