Stag + damascus Bowie

I love this knife. The lines, the incredibly clean execution, the beautiful piece of stag that perfectly compliments the lines of the knife. Wow! To me, this is everything a fighting Bowie should be. Although I very much admire your beautifully sculptured exotic wood handles, it was nice to see something different. I would like to see one with the kind of fossil walrus Don Hanson often uses. Great job. You really are amassing a very impressive body of work.

That right there is just right at the heart of modern bowie knives for me. Perfectly made with good taste.

Thank you for all the words of encouragement guys!!! :)

Getting kind words from some of my knife making heroes is sure a way to make the day! :D Thank you fellas!!! :)

RI_Shooter Thanks! :) It was nice for me to use something different on a handle. I have used a lot of stag, but it has been a good bit since the last time I did. I have some super tapers in the shop that need to see daylight ;) And I have a big project coming up with a friend/fellow forumite that will be built around a killer piece of stag he picked up at the Arkansas show. :D

I probably should start using Ivory more... it just scares me. I've only used it a handful of times, and a couple of those ended up coming back to me with cracks. :grumpy:

Salem- that's the perfectly worded compliment from a peer... Thank you. :)

great looking knife, Nick.
who the hell is Les Robertson? ;)

Did Les put this one up for sale on his website or is it for him personally... I can't find the darn thing. :)

Sorry Eric, he ordered it for a customer and I'm sending it directly to the customer.

It seems that since Les has been banned here, that me mentioning where the knife was commissioned, was a bit of a red flag to some folks. :foot:

I only included that info in the OP because the completion of the knife meant an overdue promise was being fulfilled. :) It wasn't meant as a form of advertising, so I apologize if it came across that way.

Thanks guys! :)

Thanks for the info. I didn't take it as an advertisement... and I didn't know he was banned f/ here. Guess I need to educate myself a bit more. Ha.

I'm just GLAD you're back on the 52100 JoeP fighter project... ;)

Nick ,

As usual I'm awestruck with your eye for detail. You talked about the symmetry of the back of the guard where it meets
the stag. I would have never noticed it myself, but I can see that you did. I appreciate you desiring to make it fare into
the antler without compromising the surface of the Stag at that point. This is just so amazing to me. Thanks for sharing
your detailing to the fit and finish. I'm wondering if you've ever made a knife you didn't like! I sure doubt it, I've loved
them all since I joined this forum some 10 years ago. Keep it up!
