Here is one of my DP hunters in 1095. It is edge quenched, and has a visible hardening line. Also, the spine and tang have been file worked. The blade is 5 1/4", and the OAL is 9"
The handle is shed Whitetail main beam from a very nice Kansas buck. It was selected with a rightie in mind, as the handle is much bulkier on the right side to fill your palm in standard and side grips. The right scale has a nice ridge to it, so a leftie would have no trouble with this knife, either.
This is one of my first knives on the market with what I call my "Frontier Finish". It is my interpretation of what a 100 year old knife should look like. I try to get spotty decarburization on the blade as much as possible during heat treat, then I etch it to do three things; show the hardeing line, show the decarb, and put a slightly more oxidation resistant finish on the blade. In my opinion the dark finish and the decarb are key to the aged look. I also try to rough the tang up a little with a file to show a few file marks. You would be surprised at how much work goes into making something look old.
This one comes without a sheath unless you request it. The sheath will be $15 extra and will take at least one extra day to construct. You can specify right or left hand carry.
$145 + $14 shipping to CONUS. Alaska and HI shipping will be a bit more. International shipping will be individually quoted.
I accept and prefer Paypal, but I also accept moneyorders.
