This is my classic drop point hunter in A2 blade flat ground with heat treat by Paul Bos. A2 is a high carbon (1.00 %) tool steel with a small amount of chrome (5.2%) for corrosion resistance. I have been making these in O1 with micarta and wood handles and now steped it up to Sambar Stag. Guard and Pins are 403ss.

The blade is flat ground and sanded to 2000 grit then polished. The edge is ground to about 0.015 and convex with a cutting angle of about 12 degrees to make it a real slicer.

These knives are real cutters .. See it slice in the link below..............

well i am the lucky guy. Bill, i got in just ahead of you. i feel a little badly about that, but overjoyed with the knife. it looks to be EXACTLY the blade i have been looking for. roland

paid earlier this evening with PayPal, so no longer pending, but definitely sold to lucky me. i keep coming back to look at it ! roland

Good catch, Roland!

Another beauty by Pat, congrats on a very well made slicer!:thumbup::D

picked up this knife today and have just arrived home and unpacked it.
WOW, what an attractive knife, not because of any single feature, but all of it. it has "flow",the curve of blade spine and handle is perfect. and to say awesome thick stag is almost understatement. the very thick stag also gives the knife heft and substance. i love the blade shape and think the grind is perfect too. and sharp !
so thank you Patrick, i am a proud and happy owner of a very special knife.
