This is my classic drop point huter in A2 blade flat ground with heat treat by Paul Bos. A2 is a high carbon (1.00 %) tool steel with a small amount of chrome (5.2%) for corrosion resistance. I have been making these in O1 with micarta and wood handles and now steped it up to Sambar Stag. Gurard and Pins are 403ss.
The edge is ground to about 0.015 and convex with a cutting angle of about 12 degrees to make it a real slicer.
Blade 4 1/2" x 1 1/4".. Overall length 8"
