You are killing me Alan .... that is one outrageously beautiful knife! And, wouldn't you know, after adding 7 new knives to the collection in July ... I've been forced from my diet of beans and rice to bread and water for the rest of the month! But, if this one remains here a whole lot longer ..... I dunno, I've been meaning to lose some weight anyway!

Congrats to the new owner of this beauty!
Thanks.

The knife arrived super quick, by late Monday morning, and I have been playing around with it ever since. As I wrote Alan, the knife meets and exceeds expectations and my expectations were pretty high. I've been wanting one of his blades for a while.

Initially I was slightly concerned about the size as indicated by the numbers, but in hand it is solid and substantial. The stag scales thicken just a tad toward the butt end so that the knife fills my rather big hands in a way that William Henrys, much as I like them, just do not. Because of the solid construction and the damascus it is not light, but it is not inordinately heavy.

In short, this knife is everything Alan promised it would be and a bit more. It is super sharp, though I did strop it lightly, just to see if there was anything more that the edge had to give up. The action is remarkable, just a flick of the thumb stud opens it effortlessly. My standard for smooth and effortless opening is Shirogorovs and while it is unfair to compare flippers with thumb studs, this knife opens effortlessly on a standard right up there with Shiros.

I don't know if Alan uses any CNC machining, but the knife has the vibe of a blade that is finely handcrafted.

Yup .... Alan's knives are amazing. I bought my first one in October of 2012 and currently have 56 (and have given away a few). You can take a look a his shop equipment here. You've got some really nice stag on that one, that's for sure!

Thanks.

Thanks Rick! I do not use any CNC machining. I make them all by hand with the exception of the screws.

Great tour, thanks for pointing me there. I'm just a bit worried about my future, 56+ knives in four years, huh???
