Thanks fella's, I'm glad you like it. This piece is going to the Spirit of Steel show in September. I am busting it to get ready. I am still pretty slow and do alot of handwork. I fall deeper in love with stag each time I work it! Thanks again for the comments. Brett

Brett, that stag is beautiful...so is the knife. How did you dome the pins? They look very uniform.

Matt

Hey Matt, good to see that all is well. I dome the 1/8" pins by first grinding them down to stick out approximately 1/16" on each side of the handle. I then stick a large carriage bolt in my vise so that the domed head is up. I place one side of the pin on the head and begin to lightly hammer the other side in a circular pattern. Go a bit then flip it over, repeat. They ended up around 3/16" on this knife and I left the hammer marks for a rougher look. Oh another thing, I use a small ball peen hammer. I have heard alot of guys use chasing hammers. Roger Massey gave me a hands-on lesson in peening and I must say it helped tremendously. By the way, I want to see some of your knives. Email or post them here. Thanks for the comments guys. Brett
