Nice dye job. Reminds me of the buttery scales on my old man's Kissing Cranes congress he had back in the 70s and gave to me when I went to basic. I passed that knife on to my son years ago. I loved that honey butter look.

I'm surprised they let you keep it, they took away all of our pocketknives at Fort Polk in 1968.

OP, great knife, great post.

Where was that location? I loved hiking and wilderness exploring in WA when I lived out there.

You're going to scratch up your knife throwing it on the ground like that.

Lol...

Thanks for the laugh Christian.:D
The scratches will come from the junk in my pocket, all part of the aging process.

Great pictures Mykel!!! I love being outdoors, I'm fortunate to be able to work outside most of the year but thankful to be indoors at minus twenty:o

You did a great job making that knife your own:thumbup:
Thanks Paul.
Winters make me appreciate indoor jobs, bit I always long to be outdoors.

Nice dye job, Mykel, and neat pics. I agree that those shrooms don't look very tasty...
Thanks Glenn, some are probably edible, but homey don't take no chances.;)

Best fun and pics. Loved the line about the chipmunk trying to steal your knife. Lol.

That SJ certainly has a look all is own and a great look it is. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Amos.
The knife in the hole was inspired by a chipmunk taking a Lansky Dog Bone sharpener I had sitting on the bench in the fire making pics & running for his hole with it, luckily I scared him and he dropped it right at the entrance to his hole.
That was a few years ago, but I am careful about leaving small items laying around camp nowdays.;)

That's on the eastern slopes of the Cascades.
SR97, between I 90 & Highway 2, up around Blewett Pass.
Beautiful country to wander around in.
