Stunning stag on your (and Will's) Weidmannsheil, Pt-Luso!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'm not familiar with the unstamped blade; what is it called and what is its intended use??

I've been carrying this 5" closed Marbles Lady Leg knife all week, and, believe it or not, there's a small chunk of stag up near the pivot.

Here’s one I picked up on a whim and super glad that I did! Found out from Russ Andrews (maker) that he made this one back in late 1978 or early 1979 and it was featured in a few magazines. Here’s a snapshot of it in Knives ‘81.

Jake, that's a beauty! What steel did he use?

It was listed as being W2 where I bought it, but Russ said it was 154CM. It has a few pepper spots on both sides of the blade though and I didn’t think 154CM would do that. The knife is in great shape and does show some normal use marks. The sheath is much more “used” looking so I wonder if the knife was always stored in the sheath and that’s what caused the spots. I guess if it was carbon steel, it would probably have many more spots and a patina.

You can see the spots in both of these pics:

Thanks Mr. GT, the unstamped blade is for the hunters to strip the skins out of their hunting pieces.
This your knife is also wonderful!!!

That's a nice looking knife and the stag is gorgeous, Jake! I've always admired Russ's work. Congrats on the acquisition.

I agree 110%!

These Bose knives all have re-purposed stag. The bottom two have stag from carving sets while the top stag came off of a Henckels steel.

Mike, if you get a chance I'd love to see that teardrop in a starring role all by itself.

Tip top stag, Jake and Mike! Mike, the coloration on the swell center is just awesome, perfectly toasted!

- nice popcorn there too, always a treat  :)

Peregrin Peregrin .........don't know what happened here first time, Gary - it wouldn't add the quote o_O

Thanks everyone. Here's some more shots of the tear drop. I've actually sold off all three of those knives. (I've only kept the ones that I'm using.) I still have the sketch Tony did of the knife in the middle, which was based on a Case 83 whittler, but his was much bigger.
