I believe that it would make if more effective at cutting, since curving the cutting edge makes it relatively longer, thus increasing the cutting surface.Thanks FOG2, Stuart, GT, Paul and Duncan!!
Silvey mentions that T.Turner upswept blade in his book on Military Folders - a must read!!
It's pretty amazing to look at! I wonder if it makes the knife more effective at cutting rope??
