Lazy rainy Saturday morning. Perfect time to smoke a stogie on the back porch. (And no, I have not emptied those bottles this morning. I just like the artwork. It was done by a friend.). Have a great weekend everyone!

I contacted P.J. Tomes awhile back to ask about a bullet frontlock he had made and he told me he would be happy to make me a new one. Last time I made contact he told me my 52100 blade was ready for tempering and showed me this stag to choose from. I told him it was all nice and thought the first pair had the most character but he could decide what would work best for the knife. He got back to me and said "we just cant get the great stag we used to get" and that he has more to choose from as he lives an hour and a half from a supplier. He told me he would take the time to put the very best stag he can on my knife....I cant imagine better stag than the pairs

in the picture. He is a great guy to work with and I feel pretty darn lucky to have him make me a knife. He is a master at working stag.

Really busy yesterday getting ready for vacation, and spent almost all day today packing car, driving (and stopping at numerous quilt shops for my wife's shopping pleasure), and getting the cottage set up; vacation is hard work!! Before I head for bed, I want to get a post in to Stag Saturday, perhaps my favorite thread on The Porch. Rough Rider medium trapper black mamba kindly sold me recently (I think he also put a HECK of an edge on the clip blade):
