I don’t think anyone else answered your question so I’ll give it a shot.Hate to sound ignorant and uninformed, but I've lived a sheltered life. What do you mean by halved?
ThanksI don’t think anyone else answered your question so I’ll give it a shot.
Hafting means adding a handle. To an axe or hammer.
As far as pocket knives go:
HAFTING means adding scales and how they are trimmed to fit. Especially the fit at the bolsters.
HALVED is the past tense.
me, either.... halved would not have come to mind as the past tense of hafting/hafted....Thankseveled ! I know what hafting is. It didn't occur to me to associate it with "halved" D'oh! View attachment 1759304
mbkr FWIW, I think hafted is correct for past tense of putting a handle on. Halved may also be correct?
Halved is correct if you cut something in half. “The watermelon was halved” but its kind of outdated.
Of course we’d say “The watermelon was cut in half”
Fascinating language we all share.
Well, apparently once I posted I never came backI'd halve a melon or coconut etc.
I thoughtpaulhilborn was referring to the fact that the Stag was symmetric and the centre pin corresponds to a half-way point? But I could well be off the plot......
