Harry
As usual, superb line-up Harry, faultless taste

I'm particularly impressed with the 92 Talon Wharncliffe, shows exactly WHY Barehead is best  Peerless example, really admire that one.

Thanks, Will

A Bladeforms 2014 knife, An 05, and a very old bottle opener that was my great Aunts ans possibly my Great Grandmothers. The opener has nice aged stag and Sterling silver cap and bolster.

I wonder what that little hook on the end of the bottle opener was for. I doubt it was just put there for looks.

Some nice stag there, and a great family heirloom :) I think Dave Horsewright Horsewright might do a similar pattern bottle-opener :)
A couple of stag beauties, Jack. 🤠
Many thanks John :)

Yes I do but its been many years since I've made one. Every year for Christmas I think I'll make some and never do get round to it. Took me a while to find a pic:

I have wondered that myself, I thought maybe to break the wire cage on champagne corks. I don't think so though, my family were farmers, carpenters etc in Rural Champaign County Ohio and the thought of them sipping champagne doesn't quite fit.

Update: Found this oin the Kitvchenware and tools section

Quote- "The point or tip you see on the cap lifter was designed to aid in the removal of the Baltimore loop seal. The Baltimore loop seal was invented in the 1880's by William Painter and used into the 1900's. It was a small rubber seal used as a stopper on glass bottles which had a wire bail/loop extending out of it which required a tool to ease in the removal of the stopper" -end of quote.

This knife is interesting to me because when I found it, it was a bit rusty and had obviously been used.
However, even under a good magnifying glass, it does not seem to have ever been sharpened.
It still has the factory edge, and it is still relatively sharp. Handle still tight and solid too.
