What's a dual action conversion?

I wonder how many of these Hungarian Dixons are out there. This is the only one I've seen, and I got it cheap, probably because it's funny-looking.

The Cases came from Modoc Ed.

It's a knife that has been converted to an automatic but still retains the ability to be opened manually if desired.
