Stag Saturday - Let's See Some Traditional Stag!

Reunited with an old friend!

My sister bought a new couch. In prepping the space for the new addition, my brother-in-law heard something rattling underneath the old one. As it was going to be thrown away, he cut open the bottom liner and found this inside.

There are some pepper spots on the blade, but luckily the edge was still clean. I'm going to give her a proper cleaning when I get home tonight.

I still can't believe that the sofa actually ate my knife.

You need to buy some lottery tickets today.

No stag for me this week. :(

Wonderful surprise, Christian, after all this time!😲😁
Not only is the knife outstanding on its own merits, but isn't it also a gift from a daughter of yours??

Great memory GT! That's exactly right, this #73 was a Father's Day present from my wife and daughter years ago. That's why it was such a delight when my BIL told me he found my knife.

My Lazyboy has eaten a couple of things over the years, including my favorite GEC 72 and currently an LS Starrett 6" pocket scale. The upside is that I have become very proficient at taken it apart.

My Lazyboy ate my favorite SAK, Big Red. Of course I found him after I had bought another to replace him. Now I have a backup . . . or one for each front pocket! ;)

kamagong kamagong Astounding outcome Christian, I know how much the knife meant to you in terms of its provenance & sheer aesthetics

Maybe there's hope yet for my prized 83 lockback..last seen nearly two years ago probably in the country house ? Can your brother-in-law send long distance vibes as to its possible whereabouts? ;) That or else I'll have to go on a furniture slashing orgy in town and in the country and at friends' houses 🤣:D:eek:

Thanks Will. 'Twas a complete surprise hearing of its discovery.

I sympathize with your loss. That #83 is a superb example of shielded stag. Allow me to repeat the encouragement and positive thoughts you sent my way when my #73 first went missing.

You never know about that lost 73 though...the Chambriard Stag I posted earlier was lost in old clothes in a corner for 5 years before a house move and a Horn covered Fontenille-Pataud turned up inside the frame of a bed that had become victim of a rodent invasion...MIA 4 years o_O:D Currently my favourite GEC 83 also Stag is missing, you never know. It's always the better knives or ones with an association that go missing, but better to have lost than never toted at all:thumbsup:

Oh, happy day! I think my brother in law would be too lazy to investigate…
