I woke up wanting a traditional Loveless style Chute knife. I had recently read or reread a Blade article about the knife and told myself I wanted one. I found a Loveless chute knife for $12,000.00, but it was a couple of days before payday, so I decided to look around for another maker.
I did a Bladeforums search and found a sub-hilt model made by Stag & Steel, so I contacted him and we started an e-mail dialogue concerning the project.
Long story short, My buddy wanted one too, so Jim made us a pair of full tang chute knives with maroon micarta handles out of CPM-154. Jim communicated with me really well and even sent photos of the blades before they were finished.
He made us each a very nice chute knife at a reasonable price.
So put Stag & Steel in the good column.
Thank you Jim, keep up the good work.
