I don't know if this is the right place to do this or not but I just want to let folks know my situation.
I need to let folks know that I will not be making knives for about a year. I have recently moved and have to build a new shop. This is an exciting step in my life as I have moved into the house that they will either take me out of to bury me, or put me in the nursing home. The problem with the new place is there is no shop, but the good news is it gives me a clean canvas to build what I want. I will still be popping in here occasionally and have updated my email to jslakeside@wheatstate.com
I don't know if I can take not making knives for that long, but I just have to keep looking forward to how nice it will be when it is done.

Just did the same thing. I had a shop in place, a 3 car garage. Had to make a place for mama to park the car/ THen i sectioned off the other 2 bays to make a forging/dirty area and a finishing/clean area (yeh right clean:jerkit:) but I am just now getting things to were I can work comfortably. Moved last June, had a few health problems and other setbacks so 9 months later it is finally coming together. Good luck and make it twice as big as you think you need.
 
Thanks guys! Yea I'm going to build a 45 X 60 with 1/2 of it knife/car rebuilding shop. It will be great when I get it done. I am having to learn patience all over again. Oh well all orders/commitments are caught up and getting the old place fixed up and sold will keep me busy for awhile.

I can't wait to finaly settle into a place for good!!
The Army keeps me moving about every 2 to 2 and a half years (doesn't make the family happy).
