I was given some TI, but it is in 2 pieces that are a 1/3 of a circle that must have been about 12" in diameter. It is 3/8" thick and an inch wide. I would like to flatten them out for guard material. Don't have a press yet and when I put it on an anvil and whack it with a 4# beater it just bounces and keeps its shape. Any good ideas. I have a 16# hammer, but the idea of hitting it with that and having it go flying around is not very inviting.

Heat it up to an orange/cherry glow first, straw color even better for longer working time. Ti cools really quickly. A heat treat oven would be best for uniform heat.

You want to over bent it a good bit. i have a hard time straightening 1/2" strips of 3/16" TI so good luck with that :D
